When travelling anywhere in the world, it is important that you have appropriate travel insurance. This is vital for trekking in Nepal. The cost of illness overseas can be crippling, so through ensuring you have adequate travel insurance you are covering yourself for unexpected medical costs. Effective travel insurance will also cover you against travel risks such as lost or stolen luggage, travel delays or cancellations.

In order to come on retreat with Sahasi Mahila Treks in Nepal, we require that you have comprehensive travel insurance. Please note that we will need proof of this insurance before the retreat date. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information.

Sahasi Mahila Treks deems comprehensive travel insurance to include cover for the following:

  • Coverage for trekking up to and above the highest altitude of the retreat or trek (see more details below)

  • Emergency rescue and evacuation

  • Medical treatment

  • Payment of hospitalisation

  • Repatriation to home country

  • Travel delays

  • Loss of luggage, money etc

  • Equipment such as cameras, laptops etc.

  • Death and disability

  • Cancellation of trek

Further to the above, the most important aspect of comprehensive travel insurance for trekking in Nepal is to ensure you are covered for trekking activities up to and above the highest altitude of the retreat (you can find this information on our Yoga & Trekking Retreat page), along with emergency rescue and evacuation, medical treatment, hospitalisation, death and disability, and repatriation to your home country.
